The next IRGO interdisciplinary research seminar will take place in room C107:
Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We are honored to welcome Pierre LABARDIN (Professor at IAE La Rochelle), who will speak on the following topic:
“Analyzing the Press and Annual Reports Over a Century: Discourses on Profit”
The presentation uses the example of discourses on profit to demonstrate which methodological approaches can be applied to longitudinal, digitized, and OCR-processed corpora.
The first part demonstrates how searching for words in a corpus can yield results using existing tools such as Gallicagram and Retronews. A custom development adapting Iramuteq to historical corpora showcases the results, drawing on Thomas Grandjean’s ongoing work within the framework of the Cooperative Values and CSR Chair.
The second part focuses on the ANR MILL-EHNAS project (AAPG 2025), which explores the systematic identification of causal relationships.
The conclusion demonstrates how such results can be linked to other research methodologies. Louise Bernard and Mathilde Leclère, as part of the Cooperative Values and CSR Chair, illustrate this.
The seminar will be held IN-PERSON. To facilitate discussion with the speaker present at the PUSG and maintain the laboratory’s positive dynamic, we encourage you to attend in person.
We thank you in advance for your attendance. Your participation is important to the success of our seminar series.
